Inês Fonseca

Since early on, I have been passionate about animals, and throughout my academic journey I have developed a strong interest in conservation biology, genetics, and ecology, with a particular focus on mammals and reptiles. During my bachelor’s degree, I gained laboratory experience studying the impacts of climate change and contaminants on marine invertebrates. More recently, I completed my master’s degree in applied biology at the University of Aveiro, where I conducted my research under the supervision of the Infrastructure Ecology research group (ECOINFRA), further strengthening my analytical and research skills. My work focused on literature review and data analysis related to the impacts of roads in threatened turtle species.

Currently, I continue to collaborate with ECOINFRA, analysing the impacts of roads and other infrastructure on biodiversity within the scope of the RISKY project.
