Following work developed during my Master’s thesis, I continued to research Habitat fragmentation and Nest Predation in Farmland areas, focusing on their implications on steppe-bird species of conservation concern. I also recently became affiliated with the ConGen group, working to understand the environmental and landscape variables influencing wild rabbit distribution in the Azores archipelago.
Now, during my PhD, I expect to expand on previously gathered knowledge, in order to identify how some key species and corresponding populations in the Mediterranean farmland area are being put at risk under the current and predicted land use and climate change scenarios, ultimately contributing to develop strategies capable of mitigating these impacts.
