José Miguel Esteves Lameiras
Assistant Professor
José Miguel Lameiras is a Landscape Architect, PhD in Landscape Architecture by the Faculty of Sciences of the Univerisity of Porto (2018). In academic terms, he developed his teaching and research career at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (2004-2006), University of Copenhagen (2006) and University of Porto (since 2009).
He is a researcher at CIBIO (Center for Research on Genetic Resources and Biodiversity, University of Porto), and coordinator for CIBIO’s role in the project URBiNAT - Urban including innovation Nature, funded by the H2020. In this project, CIBIO will have a leadership role in a work package, the creation of a "living laboratory" in the seven European cities; is the local partner of the City of Porto for the creation of a "healthy corridor"; is a specialist in nature-based solutions.
For the past years, he has been researching within the fields of Digital Terrain Design and Urban Biodiversity. He has also developed professional practice in Landscape Architecture, having collaborated with the GHB studio (Copenhagen, Denmark). In recent years he has developed landscape design projects under the coordination of Prof. Paulo Farinha Marques, namely the two projects for the Asprela University Campus Parks.
