We are pleased to announce the provisional program of the International Symposium on Freshwater Turtles Conservation, which will take place in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, from May 22nd to 24th, 2013, co-organized by CIBIO-InBIO.
This Symposium is included in a LIFE + Biodiversity Project – Life Trachemys 09NAT/ES/00529, which aims to halt biodiversity loss associated with the presence of exotic freshwater turtles in aquatic ecosystems.
This will be a great opportunity to exchange and promote scientific experiences and friendship between researchers, students and other freshwater turtles enthusiasts from all over the world.
The registration fee is free of costs. It includes all documentation related with the symposium, the daily shuttle service if accommodated in our list of suggested hotels (with a negotiated special rate), coffee breaks and a city tour to Porto's world heritage with visit to the Port Wine Cellars. Meals are not included in the registration fee.
You are welcome to participate with both oral or poster communications. We are pleased to announce that original and review manuscripts on all topics of the Symposium will be accepted for peer-review in a special issue of Basic and Applied Herpetology.
The deadline for sending both registration forms and abstracts, is April 12, 2013.
