THE MAGIC OF BUTHAN: A BIODIVERSITY HOTSPOT AND STRONGHOLD REVEALED
This casual conference will examine the uniqueness of Bhutan as a biodiversity hotspot within the eastern Himalayas and what makes it culturally special.
Dr. Nawang Norbu is the Director of the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment in Bhutanam. He holds a PhD from the International Max-Planck Research School in Germany (2014) and a MSc from the University of Twente in the Netherlands (2004). As an undergraduate, Dr. Nawang studied Forestry at the University of Wales, Bangor, United Kingdom (1998). Currently, he is mainly interested in examining ecological processes and using science to better conserve the vitality and resilience of our ecological systems.
Access is free, but limited to the capacity of the room. Tickets must be picked up at the reception desk of Serralves Museum on the day of the conference until 18h30.
