CIBIO-InBIO’S NEW PROJECTS HIGHLIGHTED BY RADIO PROGRAM “90 SEGUNDOS DE CIÊNCIA”

“90 segundos de Ciência” is a daily series which gives voice to Portuguese researchers on various scientific fields and topics. A series of eight episodes highlights the new projects developed by CIBIO-InBIO researchers.
From small organisms, such as viruses and bacteria, to entire ecosystems those projects aim to understand the diversity of life through the use of genomic and ecological tools. These studies will bring important contributions for the conservation of biodiversity and the ecosystems services it supports, the basis for all life forms, livelihoods and well-being of people everywhere.
Every interview highlights one project, explained by its principal researcher. The subjects encompass the development of plants with higher nutritional value, species responses to climate change in different environments, genetic basis of bird voalizations, monitoring and predicting pathogen outbreaks, diagnostic and therapeutic tools, and the importance of biodiversity in agroecosystems.
