INVITATION FOR A PHD CANDIDATE

We are looking for a highly motivated graduate student, who is interested in pursuing a PhD degree in the field of Archaeogenetics, Biology, Animal Science, Bioinformatics or related fields to join the team of the ARCHAEOGENETICS Research Group at CIBIO-InBIO.
The PhD student will investigate the genomic diversity of past and extant Iberian cattle populations to unveil their origins, evolutionary trajectories and modes of improvement. It will employ whole-genome re-sequencing data generated within the ARCHAIC and OPTIBOV projects to carry out a comprehensive Population Genomics study of Iberian cattle to investigate demographic processes and post-domestication changes in inheritable traits.
The invited student will interact with an international team of scientists at CIBIO-InBIO, Campus of Vairão, Portugal, at LARC-National Laboratory of Archaeosciences in Lisbon, Portugal, and at foreign participating institutions namely the The Center for Palaeogenetics of Stockholm University, under the supervision of CIBIO-InBIO researcher Catarina Ginja.
