Ricardo Rocha receives the European Early Career Conservation Award

This prize has been awarded biannually since 2016 by the European section of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) . It is designed to highlight the work of young researchers who have contributed significantly to the conservation of the natural heritage, whether through research, field intervention or political and educational action. At the same time, it aims to inspire a new generation of researchers dedicated to protecting biodiversity and minimizing the impacts of global change.
According to the SCB, Ricardo Rocha has made a significant contribution to conservation science and practice while helping to make conservation a better and more inclusive place for everyone.
"Receiving this award undoubtedly creates added value for my professional future, but it also reflects the fact that science and nature conservation in Portugal and Europe can be more diverse" says Ricardo Rocha.
