I am currently a second year Masters student in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution at the Faculty of Science of the University of Porto (FCUP). Since my bachelor degree in Biology, my academic career has focused on working on different projects related to genetics, wildlife management and conservation. Currently, my main focus is on my MSc thesis on the conservation genetics of the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) in the Iberian Peninsula, trying to optimise a complete and powerful molecular tool to characterise the gene pool and phylogeography of rabbit subspecies, as well as to understand the impact of human-induced movements on the rabbit gene pool. Previously, I worked on the MULTICRASH project, investigating the diet of the European otter (Lutra lutra) in northeastern Portugal, and completed an extra-curricular internship at the Natural History Museum of the University of Porto (MHNC-UP), where I helped organise and manage field collections. Beyond my academic and professional activities, I am a nature lover, passionate about photography and science communication.
