I graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Porto, in 2021, having done my curricular internship with the "Servei d'Ecopatologia de Fauna Salvatge-Wildlife ecology and health group" at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. In 2022 I started working with the "Instituto de Investigación en Recursos Cinegéticos" (IREC) within the Health and Biotechnology group.
My main research interests are wildlife health and conservation, focusing on the ecology and epidemiology of infectious and parasitic diseases.
My PhD thesis will be focused on the eco-epidemiology of Bagaza Virus in the Iberian Peninsula and co-circulation dynamics with avian malaria parasites. The project involves a partnership between CIBIO-InBIO and IREC under the supervision of Ursula Höfle (IREC) and João Queirós (CIBIO-InBIO).
