Catarina Teixeira

I am a legal affairs professional with experience as a lawyer in a law firm and in-house practice in the research and technology sectors. My work focuses on providing strategic legal support to ensure that scientific and organizational activities fully comply with legal, regulatory, and ethical frameworks.

With extensive experience in contract and commercial law, intellectual property, data protection, public procurement, employment, and administrative law, I advise on the negotiation and management of national and international agreements, including research collaborations and technology transfer. I also support governance structures, ensure institutional compliance, and contribute to the development of transparent and effective legal processes.

I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Law, complemented by postgraduate studies in Intellectual Property Law, Public Procurement, Employment and Labour Law, and Management, and I am currently developing postgraduate studies in Data Protection.

I strongly believe that legal expertise, when combined with a deep understanding of the dynamics of research and technology, plays a vital role in fostering scientific excellence by shaping legal frameworks that sustain innovation and ensure it goes hand in hand with ethical responsibility.
