César Capinha

Assistant Professor, University of Lisbon and Senior Researcher in Biogeography, Biological Invasions and Predictive Modelling. His research focuses mainly on mapping and analysing biogeographical changes caused by the human-mediated dispersal of species, often from a global perspective. Additionally, he has investigated the spatial and temporal predictive modelling of ecological and biological phenomena, with a particular emphasis on the spread, distribution, and phenology of non-native species. César often addresses these research topics using recent advances in machine learning and deep learning, aiming to incorporate developments from these tools into the invasion science toolbox.
