With a main interest in Ecology and Conservation, I started working as an undergraduate in road ecology, focusing on effect of roads in the abundance and mortality of both carnivores and small mammals.
On my MSc thesis I worked with the endangered Cabrera vole (Microtus cabrerae), under the project PERSIST. The aim of the thesis was to assess the mating system and dispersal in a metapopulation in southwestern Portugal through the use of noninvasive genetic sampling.
Currently, I'm working on the same topic and species, with the project NETPERSIST, which aims to assess the fine-scale genetic structure on a larger metapopulation of the Cabrera vole.
