My main research interests lie in the fields of biogeography, ecology and evolution, and my favorite model groups have always been amphibians and reptiles.
I graduated in Evolutionary Biology at the University of Padova (Italy) in 2017 with a thesis on the herpetofauna diversity, species richness and biogeographic affinities of three understudied forest fragments of south-western Tanzania. To accomplish this, I spent four months in Tanzania to collect field data and performed surveys in montane forest habitat. I had other fieldwork experiences on various taxonomic groups, including lemurs.
I am currently developing a PhD project in BIOEVOL research group at CIBIO. The aim of the project is to understand the evolutionary processes underlying species diversification using the mantellid frogs of Madagascar as model system.
