I am a biologist with a strong interest in lichens and nature conservation. After completing my degree, I worked for several years with environmental and humanitarian organizations before returning to research. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Nature Management and Conservation at the University of the Azores, co-hosted by BIOPOLIS/CIBIO–InBIO. My thesis focuses on modelling the microclimatic conditions that influence the occurrence of the dominant rock-dwelling lichen Acarospora hilaris in the Côa Valley (UNESCO World Heritage Site), using temperature and humidity data to understand its spatial distribution patterns at the rock surface level and support rock art conservation efforts.
