I have graduated from the Veterinary Faculty – University of Lisbon in 2021, and I am currently enrolled on the BIODIV – Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution doctoral programme. Throughout the development of my masters’ thesis, I worked closely with wildlife in continental Portugal, specifically with cetacean viral diseases. During this period, I had the opportunity to join different virology laboratories enhancing my skills on molecular biology.

My main interests are wildlife health and conservation, with special focus on wild birds and the impacts of human activities on their populations.

During my PhD project I will study vulture populations of southern Angola, their ecology and health status, with the objective of contributing to the conservation of the five species thought to still prevail in the country.
