Groups
Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated by the natural world, particularly the often-overlooked groups such as insects and crustaceans. I completed my undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Porto in 2024, where I developed a deep interest in entomology, focusing on water mites (Hydrachnidiae) and ants.
Currently, my research is centered on collecting and processing specimens for DNA barcoding as part of the Biodiversity Genomics Europe project. Given that water mites are poorly studied in Portugal, I am particularly excited about the opportunity to expand knowledge of their taxonomy and to establish a foundation for future ecological research.
