I obtained my BSc degree in Biology in 2020 at University of Porto. Following, I enrolled in the MSc program in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution at the same University. I developed my thesis in BIOPOLIS-CIBIO and in the University of Oxford. I used NGS and capture enrichment techniques to generate mitochondrial genomes of archaeological, museum and modern samples of leporids. After, I worked as a research technician in BIOPOLIS-CIBIO. My main interests include genomics, ancient DNA, leporids and phylogeography.

Currently, I am a PhD student and during my thesis I will use exome capture enrichment techniques to study the genetic basis of speciation and hybridization. To this end, I will use archaeological samples (oldest ones go back 6,000 years) and modern of the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus). We hope to pinpoint genes of interest and how they developed over time.
