I obtained the Msc degree in Conservation and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Pisa. I have a strong interest in ecology and herpetology, with a particular emphasis on the conservation issues related to the so called "Global Amphibian Extinction Crisis".
I'm currently working on a project in which I intend to study the invasiveness and the impact of the recently introduced Asian toad (Duttaphrynus melanostictus) on the ecosystems of Madagascar. This is a multiapproach study that includes the modelling of the potential distribution, the study of the spatial behavioural ecology, but also the role of the toad microbiome in the invasive process, and the assessment of the risk of potential transmission of pathogens and parasites to the native and endemic amphibians.
