I am an applied ecologist with a strong interest in the effects of human-induced environmental change on ecosystems. My research focuses on the determinants of invasion dynamics and impacts, and the consequences of human activities on species communities, principally using an ecological modelling approach. During my research, I cumulated over 20 months of fieldwork activities in remote areas of Madagascar, Senegal, and Saudi Arabia conducting ecological studies on invasive species, inventories of reptile and amphibian communities. More recently, (i) I conducted research on the African Great Green Wall in Senegal, leading a project about the potential impacts of reforestation on arid-adapted species, and (ii) I am conducting research in Saudi Arabia, where I am studying determinants of community assembly and species distribution. Currently, I am starting a research line on dryland restoration ecology, In which I delve into determinants of community structure and dynamics, and seek community changes and ecological processes induced by restoration activities in drylands.
