In 2021 I graduated in Biology at the University of Porto, and in 2023 I completed my Master's degree at CIBIO with the title 'What's in the turf? A multi-approach biodiversity assessment of turf-forming algae on rocky shores".

Currently I am a PhD student and the aim of my thesis is to understand how temperature variability and change affects species distribution, richness and diversity by using a series of novel methods to study thermal landscapes and biodiversity patterns at fine scales from polar to tropical regions of the Atlantic in both hemispheres.
In 2021, I graduated in biology at the University of Porto, and in 2023, I completed my Master's degree at CIBIO with the title "What's in the turf? A multi-approach biodiversity assessment of turf-forming algae on rocky shores'. The thesis compared the effectiveness of different sampling techniques (visual in situ and DNA metabarcoding) in identifying rocky intertidal algae. Additionally, I worked on optimizing barcoding protocols for the turf algae found on the Portuguese coast. I am interested in DNA barcoding, DNA metabarcoding, and marine biodiversity. Recently, I started working as a research technician at CIBIO-InBIO, where I will apply genetic tools to study intertidal biodiversity.
