Throughout my career as an agronomist, I started
by working in livestock husbandry, beginning in the intensive sector but
gradually shifting towards extensive systems, a more sustainable way of
production, with the aim of regenerating land instead of degrading it even
more. I took the leap into the forest conservation area, targeting dryland
Mediterranean ecosystems, where I’m currently conducting research during my
PhD. With my thesis, entitled "Ecosystem restoration in semi-arid regions
through assisted natural regeneration”, I intend to explore nature-based
techniques and approaches that can facilitate the regeneration of natural oak
forests, with the commitment of sharing new and old knowledge with the
community and stakeholders.
