My name is Lurdes and I’m a second-year master’s student in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution from Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, where I also did my bachelor in biology. I am enthusiastic about animal behavior, its evolution, and the genetics behind it. I started my journey on animal behavior with my internship on dog behavior, temperament, and welfare. Currently, I’m doing my master’s thesis at CIBIO where we aim to understand if male syngnathid can distinguish between own and foreign embryos, the processes that occur during the exposure of syngnathid to foreign embryos using transcriptomics and the impacts of temperature on male pregnancy.
