I am currently a PhD student at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela. My thesis is focused on (1) the combined effects of global change drivers on biodiversity in fire-prone landscapes, and (2) how remote sensing technologies can contribute to assess said effects. In my thesis, I combine scenario planning tools, landscape simulations and biodiversity modelling platforms to predict shifts in the spatial patterns of vertebrate communities under future climate and land-cover scenarios.
During my PhD, I've also had the opportunity to collaborate in other research projects such as the "FIRESMART" project.
During my PhD and previous formation I've also had the opportunity to collaborate in other scientific projects in wonderful places such as the Fragas do Eume Natural Park in Galiza, the Meseta Ibérica Transboundary Biosphere Reserve (Spain-Portugal) and the Gerês-Xures Transboundary BR (Spain-Portugal).
Currently at CIBIO-InBio, I am part of the team involved with supporting the Regional Protected Landscape of Serra da Aboboreira, in Portugal.
My main interests are Landscape Ecology, Remote Sensing, Species Distributions, Fire Ecology and Biodiversity.
