PhD in Botany and Assistant Professor at the Department of Botany, University of Santiago de Compostela, Galicia (Spain). His main research interests are Plant Biogeography and Evolution, Plant Phylogenetics and Taxonomy, and Plant Conservation and Management. To address these topics, he uses molecular tools and environmental niche modelling approaches, as well as comparative phylogenetic methods to evaluate key traits and historical processes related to lineage diversification. He is also interested in evolutionary and adaptive processes resulting from polyploidization and hybridization. He is currently leading reintroduction projects of threatened plant species guided with remote sensing and NGS genomic tools in natural areas of Galicia.
