I completed my undergraduate studies in Biology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and subsequently pursued a Master's degree in Environmental Biology at the University of Crete. During my studies, I gained experience in different fields, starting from biofouling and the mechanism driving the balanus settlement on their substrate. My master's thesis involved the application of statistical methods, specifically Species Distribution Modelling (SDMs), using the theoretical framework of the niche concept and the interactions between species and their environments. During my involvement in the Erasmus + internship, the COST Action PERIAMAR, and later the Agrolizard + project, I delved into the study of reptiles, investigating the influence of climate change and pesticides on the functional traits of lizards. My interest lies in biogeography and the theoretical ecological processes that underpin these pivotal questions. This field is of increasing significance under the light of climate change, anthropogenic activities, and invasive species, presenting numerous applications and challenges for biologists and practitioners.
