I am a biologist with a PhD in evolutionary biology, specialised in biodiversity and conservation, with a strong focus on conservation and climate change ecology. Given the unprecedented rates of climate change, much of my research revolves around understanding how species' range margins will shift in response to these environmental changes. I’m also interested in exploring the evolution of morphological and physiological traits at both species and population levels.
During my doctoral research at CIBIO (University of Porto), I integrated ecophysiology, species distribution, and mechanistic niche modelling with phylogenetic comparative methods to investigate the diversification of European vipers and their potential persistence under climate change.
