My research at the University of Évora is dedicated both to the genetic analysis of hybridization between Quercus suber and Quercus ilex subsp. rotundifolia, and the study of ectomycorrhizal associations.
My main expertise is in classical Genetics and Molecular Biology, with which I study evolutionary, ecological and developmental aspects.
My teaching at the University of Évora is usually centered on Genetics, Molecular Biology, Evolutionary Biology and Developmental Biology, but includes collaborations in lecturing Microbiology, Cell Biology and Immunology.
The Biology Department Laboratory for Molecular Biology is under my responsability. I am an accredited instructor, with diversified experience in professional training, for example with a specially designed workshop for the discussion of creationism with Biology teachers, or introductory practical courses for Molecular Biology.
