Richard James Ladle

Richard Ladle has a degree in Zoology (Newcastle University) and a doctorate in theoretical ecology (Oxford University). With over 25 years of experience as a University teacher, he was the first Director of the MSc Biodiversity, Conservation and Management at Oxford University (2003-2009) and Titular Professor of Conservation Science at the Federal University of Alagoas, Brazil (2012-2020). He is currently the ERA Research Chair in Tropical Biodiversity and Ecosystems Research (TROPIBIO) at CIBIO-InBIO, Vairão. Author of over 200 peer reviewed articles, book chapters and books, his research interests include human-nature interactions, conservation biogeography and the use of new technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of wildlife conservation.
