I am a naturalist trained in historical biogeography and am currently investigating the late quaternary range dynamics of evergreen tree species in the paleartic region through the combined use of paleobotanical and phytogeographical data. In my bachelor's degree (Natural Sciences), I approached geobotany topics, especially the distribution of the Balkan/Eastern floristic element in the Italian Peninsula. Later in my master's degree, I focused on the Lusitanian floristic element in Europe, coupling paleobotanical evidence with phytogeographical data. The thesis was carried out under the co-tutoring of the Sapienza University of Rome and the University of Uppsala, where I stayed in 2020/2021 thanks to international scholarships. Since 2021, I have been involved in a joint PhD program between the Sapienza University of Rome and the University of Porto and CIBIO-InBIO, where I'm training species distribution modeling and geo-statistics techniques to be combined with paleobotanical and phytogeographical data. During the PhD program, I attended several courses, seminars, and conferences, publishing communications and papers in international journals.
