I am an evolutionary biologist and my work focuses on animal conservation, especially understanding the processes leading to species endangerment in the context of habitat loss and environmental change. As such, my research mainly addresses conservation genetics/genomics of mammalian species and populations, specifically by describing patterns of genetic diversity across time and space, understanding how species and populations have responded and continue to respond to habitat loss and environmental change, and defining priorities for the conservation of populations to ensure evolutionary resilience.
I have also a great interest in engaging young researchers and the general public in biodiversity conservation, as well as educating on the importance of genetics in conservation.
