I am a master student and my project is being developed in collaboration with Museu Emílio Goeldi (Belém, Brazil). My work focuses on the phylogeny and phylogeography of the Neotropical species complex Xiphorhynchus ocellatus/pardalotus/chunchotambo(Aves, Dendrocolaptidae) using several molecular markers and Geographical information system (GIS) and it is supervised by Fernando Sequeira (CIBIO-InBIO) and Alexandre Aleixo (Museu Emílio Goeldi).
My work in CIBIO started in 2008 as an undergraduate student in Biology. During this time I worked under the supervision of Prof. Paulo Célio and Prof. David Gonçalves on the detection of hybridization among Alectoris rufa and other Alectoris sp. as well as between Coturnix coturnix coturnix and its domesticated relative Coturnix coturnix japonica.
