I always had a strong interest in large carnivores, which led me to pursue a degree in Biology at FCUP, completing it in 2023. During this time, I had the opportunity to collaborate with MHNC-UP, contributing to the enhancement of the museum’s ornithological collection. For my internship project, I focused on forensic analysis applied to ecology, investigating livestock predation in the Asturias region of Spain to identify the responsible predator species.
Currently, as part of my Master's in Biodiversity, Genetics, and Evolution (FCUP), I am studying the demographic histories of large carnivores in the Iberian Peninsula, specifically the Iberian Wolf, Brown Bear, and Red Fox. My main focus is to understand how these species have responded to environmental changes since the last glacial period, with particular attention to the last 10,000 years, assessing the impact of human populations on the demographic expansion of large carnivores. In parallel, wildlife photography has become a natural extension of this passion, allowing me to explore and document biodiversity in its natural habitat.
