I’m a Biologist, with a master degree in Molecular Biology.
During my academic training, I worked as an intern at the Institute of Anatomical & Molecular Pathology - IAP-PM- of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra, focusing on cancer research and the study of genetic alterations.
In 2013, I joined the Research Centre in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources, CIBIO-InBIO, working as a research technician within the group "Immunity and Emerging Diseases - IMED”.
During three years, I performed vast laboratory work concerning different projects focusing on the areas of Immunology, Virology, Evolution and Host-Parasite Interactions.
In 2019, after some time-off working in a veterinary clinic, I joined the CTM team, at CIBIO-InBIO, as a Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technician.
Currently, I am a member of the Evolutionary Genetics and Genomics (EVOLGEN) group focused on studying evolutionary biology, such as the mechanisms of adaptation and speciation using Littorina species (marine Gastropod) as a model system, under the supervision of Rui Faria.
