PROFESSOR ANTÓNIO FRIAS MARTINS DISTINGUISHED BY THE REPUBLIC OF PORTUGAL
On June 10, 2017, Day of Portugal, António Frias Martins, Emeritus Professor at the University of Azores, was distinguished by the Portuguese Republic in a ceremony at Solar da Madre de Deus in recognition of his exquisite curriculum devoted to science. Just a few days before this recognition, Professor António Frias Martins gave a master class at CIBIO-InBIO, on April 28, 2017 illustrating his outstanding path.
Besides this distinction, on June 15, 2017 Professor António Frias Martins additionally received a medal of honour and was nominated as an Honorary citizen of Vila Franca do Campo - Azores Municipality.
For the whole CIBIO-InBIO community, as well as for the whole Portuguese scientific community, we celebrate those distinctions as they were ours, and say: Congratulations, Professor Frias Martins!
