I completed the Ph.D. in Landscape Architecture (2022), at the same institution, with a grant funded by Fundação para a Ciencia e Tecnologia (FCT) and a thesis intitled "Towards a New Nature in cities: Understanding Novel Urban Ecosystems in the Anthropocene”. During the Ph.D., I was a Fulbright Visiting Researcher (2018/2019) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, in the United States. Since 2022, I am an Invited Assistant Professor at the University of Porto, where I mainly teach about planting design and urban green infrastructure. At the moment, I am a Researcher at Associação BIOPOLIS-CIBIO working on the Research Project "Invited Chair for Biodiversity and Conservation - Project for the creation of Tapada da Amora Arboretum, Portugal” (Cátedra FBA-FCT-Arboreto), funded by Fundação Belmiro de Azevedo (FBA) and Fundação para a Ciencia e Tecnologia (FCT).
My research interests include a variety of topics about plants, such as: novel urban ecosystems; planting design and management; forest habitats restoration and management; urban ecology; tree-lined streets; nature-based solutions and urban green infrastructure; native, non-native and invasive plants; plants traits; people’s perception towards green spaces and plants.
