I completed a Master's in Ecology and Environment in 2021, during which I developed research on city-region food systems and their potential impact on biodiversity. This allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of food system sustainability, agroecosystems, landscape ecology, and biodiversity conservation. Since then, I have been involved in several research projects within the Ecochange research group, focusing on farming systems and biodiversity, ecosystem services (such as the implementation of the Regional Protected Landscape in Serra da Aboboreira), and socio-ecological production landscapes, particularly farmlands with high nature value.

At present, I am a PhD student in the BIODIV doctoral program, with a scholarship from the Foundation for Science and Technology and the Côa Parque Foundation. My research will focus on developing strategies for creating fire-resilient and biodiverse landscapes in the Côa Valley Region. My goal is to contribute to improved landscape planning and management by highlighting social and economic dynamics grounded on environmental goals, including food system relocalisation, fire resilience, increased biodiversity, and ecosystem services while promoting integrated territorial development.

My primary research interests include landscape ecology, landscape planning, agroecology, biodiversity and ecosystem services, fire ecology, socio-ecological systems, spatial analysis and geographical information systems.
