I am a Field Researcher at CIBIO-InBIO, Research Center in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources (University of Porto, Portugal). During my master’s degree (University of Coimbra, 2021) I investigated the ecology of roe deer and wild boar in northwest Portugal, namely their abundance and habitat use. During the following year, I held workshops to demystify Portuguese herpetofauna and workshops of fauna observation for children and young people up to the age of 16, as a way of encouraging and captivating their attention and sensitivity to wild animals. In 2022 I took part as a field technician in a project (C3C - Hunting, Competitiveness and Communication), which helped to improve my skills, as well as getting to know the biological and hunting realities throughout Portugal. My current research focuses on wild ungulates, prey of the Iberian wolf, with the aim of improving their habitat to increase wild prey population, reducing wolf predation on livestock, and thus reducing human-wolf conflict.
