Paulo Jorge Rodrigues Farinha Marques
Associate Professor
Born in Luanda (1963) and brought up in Lisbon (1963- 1988).Fully graduated as a landscape architect in the Superior Institute of Agronomy- Technical University of Lisbon (1988). Practitioner in own company (Porto, 1988-2000). Admitted to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 1999, in the Faculty of Architectural Studies of the University of Sheffield, UK. From 1996 until 2000, teaching and private practice were combined, first in the University of Aveiro – Landscape Ecology and Planning of Natural Resources (1996 – 1998) a then in the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro – totally involved in the launching of the new Landscape Architecture course –Drawing skills, Landscape Ecology and Landscape Design (1998-2000).
Appointed for a position of Auxiliary Professor in Landscape Architecture at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (2000-2003). In 2003 was Appointed for a position of Associate Professor at the University of Porto (2009) where currently develops teaching and research in the landscape architecture – landscape planning, landscape design, landscape planting, ecological park design, design and restoration of natural and manmade habitats and biodiversity promotion in urban landscapes.
