"The use of energy is universal to all life forms and all levels of biological organization, potentially linking processes operating at variable scales.” (Enriquez-Urzelai & Boratyński 2022)
"Camouflage is a widespread anti-predator adaptation that hinders detection or recognition by increasing prey resemblance to natural environment or objects therein...” (Nokelainen et al. 2020)
"Anthropogenic stressors, such as radioactive contaminants released from the Chernobyl and Fukushima Daiichi accidents, deteriorate ecological and evolutionary processes...” (Boratyński et al. 2021)
"Arid and semi-arid regions represent about one-fifth of the world’s land (…) harbour one-fourth of land vertebrate species (...) a majority of them do not occur outside arid ecosystems..." (Bryja et al. 2022)
I am evolutionary ecologist and eco-physiologist. I pursue hypothesis driven research, within above subjects, identifying suitable for the specific question systems (i.e. organisms, habitats). I work primarily on small vertebrates (rodents, lizards) but do not hesitate to engage research on diverse organisms. My research, pursued within international network of colleagues, is motivated by processes shaping biological diversity, is situ experimentation, and extremities and changes of environments (details here).
